Spiritual Decline in Reformed Churches in SA
Abstract: The form of spiritual decline that is occurring in Reformed (Calvinistic) churches in South Africa comprises the denial of fundamental Christian doctrines. The five doctrines involved are (1) a premillennial eschatology, (2) sanctification as a second work of grace, (3) salvation through regeneration, (4) the inerrancy of the Bible as God’s Word, and (5) the Deity of Jesus. Some denominations are in an early stage of decline while others have advanced much further. Continue reading “Spiritual Decline in Reformed Churches in SA”
Are you a lukewarm Christian?
The concept of a “lukewarm Christian” comes from Revelation 3, where Jesus criticizes a church for being full of believers who were neither hot nor cold—not cold, dead, or unbelieving, but not on fire for Jesus, either. He basically said, “I l like hot coffee and cold brew, but if it’s room temp, I want to spew it out of my mouth” (cf. Revelation 3:16). Continue reading “Are you a lukewarm Christian?”
Have we lost the fear of the Lord
It seems like the fear of the Lord has gone out of style in the modern church. I have heard some say that the fear of God is an Old Testament concept and has no relevance to today’s New Testament believers.
Really? Is this what the Bible teaches?
How does a person grieve or quench the Holy Spirit ?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Many people misunderstand the identity of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is commonly thought of as an impersonal force. Some people think of it as a healing or protective power to which God gives a believer access. But what does the Bible say about the Holy Spirit? Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit is not just an impersonal power or a force, but a person – the third person of the Trinity, in fact. The Holy Spirit is God Himself. The Five Tests of False Doctrine
T.D. Jakes says that God eternally exists in three manifestations, not three persons. Greg Boyd says God knows some aspects of the future, but that other future events are outside of his knowledge.Creflo Dollar says because we are created in the image of God, we are little gods. Mormonism says God revealed new scripture to Joseph Smith that supersedes the Bible. Roman Catholicism says we are justified by faith, but not by faith alone. “WHY I LEFT THE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH” (2 Tim 3:14)
Paul could have been thinking of me when he wrote this verse to a young man named Timothy. I was born into a Pentecostal family of many years. My grandfather preached “fire and brimstone” from the time I could remember until his death in 1968. He was some-what an intimidating individual who was demanding and abrupt. I was taught that only those who were “chosen” or “called” could ever enter into the “faithful” ministry of our Lord. I never challenged his thinking or his preaching. What he said was like a direct command from Jesus Christ himself. With this in mind .. at the age of 12 .. I was told I was being called into the ministry and preached my first sermon shortly thereafter. I spent a total of 18 years preaching as a “Pentecostal” preacher. I taught the “Jesus Only” doctrine known as the “Apostolic Faith” (United Pentecostal Church).

As in the Days of Noah
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Mat 24:37).
Regardless of how one interprets Mat 24, there’s no doubt that Christ referred to the rebellion and judgment in Noah’s day, which He compared to mankind’s subsequent rebellion and impending judgment. It’s a sober warning for any generation to consider. Continue reading “As in the Days of Noah”
Christians And Judging
Many Christians misinterpret what the Bible says about judging and say that we should never judge. In Mat 7:1-5, Jesus did say not to judge. However, a close look at these verses will show that He is referring to hypocritical judging and He went on to say that when a hypocrite cleans up his own life then he will be fit to judge another. Five Cautions for the Church
5 points warning the “Church” that they must have enough oil to be ready to meet their Bridegroom, Jesus, but as the parable in Mat 25 warns us, unfortunately there will be foolish virgins that will not have enough oil. The Lord has put it on the harts of many Christians to warn the “Church” , the question is – Will they listen?
Hot, Cold, and Lukewarm

Ten Kinds of Spiritual Foolishness
The knowledge of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Pro 9:10). Contrary to this, the beginning of foolishness is to deny God and think and live according to one’s own, limited understanding. The natural knowledge and desires of human beings are perverted because of the Fall. A life without the knowledge of God is the breeding-ground for deception and wrong priorities. The Bible refers to the following ten kinds of spiritual foolishness, some of which even Christians may be guilty of: Continue reading “Ten Kinds of Spiritual Foolishness”

Charles Darwin: Devil’s Chaplain or Pardoned Prodigal?
AD 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth in 1809 and the 150th anniversary of the unveiling of his theory of evolution by the publication of his book,The Origin of Species, in 1859. Belief in evolution as though it were fact proven beyond doubt is surely the greatest single cause of the disastrous decline in belief in God, the Bible and the Christian faith during the 19th – 21st century. Rom 1:25 refers to those “who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped the creature more than the Creator.” The evolution theory has proved a formidable weapon in Satan’s hands, which should be of concern to all true Christians who are called upon to “fight the good fight of faith” (1Tim 6:12). Continue reading “Charles Darwin: Devil’s Chaplain or Pardoned Prodigal?”
The Lie Of Evolution
What does the Bible really teach about evolution? From Genesis and on, the Biblical record is always clear and exact — God created Adam and Eve and from them mankind began. Mankind did NOT evolve from a monkey, nor were we put here by aliens from another planet or anything else. God created Adam from the dust of the earth (Gen 2:7) and Eve was created from Adam’s rib (Gen 2:21,22). The Lord Jesus confirmed their creation (Mar 10:6). Because Jesus is the ultimate authority, being God in the flesh, he verified man’s creation! That should settle it forever. Man did NOT evolve and evolution is a lie, just like eternal security. Continue reading “The Lie Of Evolution”
End-time Deception in the Emerging Church
We are living in a time when increased pressure is exerted upon all churches to fundamentally change their doctrines. The Bible is considered less dogmatic since modern humanity is not prepared to restrict its freedom by a narrow and literal interpretation of Scripture. A biblical concept of God, an evangelical doctrine of salvation and premillennial teachings on end-time events are among the major casualties in the new reformation which is currently under way.

There are various theories on the existence of black Jewish tribes in Africa. Such people are erroneously described as descendants from the so-called “ten lost tribes of Israel”.
