AZUSA STREET The Birth of a Lie

In the past I have said that not all charismatics are the same, but that they all share the same guilt for their errors. Charismatics are the spawn of Pentecostalism. It is therefore prudent to see whether or not the child of Pentecostalism is just a wild and unprecedented mistake – or if it is a genealogical reproduction of its parent. If it is a mistake, then Pentecostalism might be exonerated. But, what if charismaticism is a true child, an image of its parent? If this is so, then we have no option but to cast Pentecostalism into the same pit that charismaticism belongs to.  Continue reading “AZUSA STREET The Birth of a Lie”

Pentecostalism and Its Impact

In writing this analysis, it is important to note that the Pentecostal movement is diverse and heterogeneous. Some charismatic Christian groups are extremely adhoc and fluid in technique, such as the Wesley and quasi Pentecostal-Baptists churches, whilst other groups are more organized and rigid. For example, the United Pentecostal Church, other so-called independent “Oneness” Pentecostals and at times the Assemblies of God. And as a result, the diversity of Pentecostal movements must be taken into account when reading this analysis.

Paul could have been thinking of me when he wrote this verse to a young man named Timothy. I was born into a Pentecostal family of many years. My grandfather preached “fire and brimstone” from the time I could remember until his death in 1968. He was some-what an intimidating individual who was demanding and abrupt. I was taught that only those who were “chosen” or “called” could ever enter into the “faithful” ministry of our Lord. I never challenged his thinking or his preaching. What he said was like a direct command from Jesus Christ himself. With this in mind .. at the age of 12 .. I was told I was being called into the ministry and preached my first sermon shortly thereafter. I spent a total of 18 years preaching as a “Pentecostal” preacher. I taught the “Jesus Only” doctrine known as the “Apostolic Faith” (United Pentecostal Church).

The Postmodern Deconstruction of Biblical Truths

We are living in a time of the most immense and relentless attacks on the Christian faith since the beginning of the church dispensation. The present onslaught does not primarily occur on the physical level in order to persecute and torture Christians, but rather on the spiritual and doctrinal level with a view to utterly deceiving them. These assaults constitute a determined and final effort by the kingdom of darkness to completely obliterate the Christian faith and replace it with the Antichrist’s alliance of false world religions. Ten Kinds of Spiritual Foolishness

The knowledge of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Pro 9:10). Contrary to this, the beginning of foolishness is to deny God and think and live according to one’s own, limited understanding. The natural knowledge and desires of human beings are perverted because of the Fall. A life without the knowledge of God is the breeding-ground for deception and wrong priorities. The Bible refers to the following ten kinds of spiritual foolishness, some of which even Christians may be guilty of: Continue reading “Ten Kinds of Spiritual Foolishness”

Charles Darwin: Devil’s Chaplain or Pardoned Prodigal?

AD 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth in 1809 and the 150th anniversary of the unveiling of his theory of evolution by the publication of his book,The Origin of Species, in 1859. Belief in evolution as though it were fact proven beyond doubt is surely the greatest single cause of the disastrous decline in belief in God, the Bible and the Christian faith during the 19th – 21st century. Rom 1:25 refers to those “who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped the creature more than the Creator.” The evolution theory has proved a formidable weapon in Satan’s hands, which should be of concern to all true Christians who are called upon to “fight the good fight of faith” (1Tim 6:12). The Lie Of Evolution

What does the Bible really teach about evolution? From Genesis and on, the Biblical record is always clear and exact — God created Adam and Eve and from them mankind began. Mankind did NOT evolve from a monkey, nor were we put here by aliens from another planet or anything else. God created Adam from the dust of the earth (Gen 2:7) and Eve was created from Adam’s rib (Gen 2:21,22). The Lord Jesus confirmed their creation (Mar 10:6). Because Jesus is the ultimate authority, being God in the flesh, he verified man’s creation! That should settle it forever. Man did NOT evolve and evolution is a lie, just like eternal security. End-time Deception in the Emerging Church

We are living in a time when increased pressure is exerted upon all churches to fundamentally change their doctrines. The Bible is considered less dogmatic since modern humanity is not prepared to restrict its freedom by a narrow and literal interpretation of Scripture. A biblical concept of God, an evangelical doctrine of salvation and premillennial teachings on end-time events are among the major casualties in the new reformation which is currently under way.

The Gnostic ‘Gospel’ of Judas

Christianity experiences unprecedented attacks on its foundational truths. These attacks are motivated and coordinated by evil forces that are intent on deceiving all people as a prelude to physically establishing Satan’s kingdom on earth. Their main obstacle is the biblical account of God’s kingdom and, particularly, the deity, atoning death, resurrection and second coming of Jesus Christ. The present attacks are aimed at discrediting the canonical books of the Bible, and thereby also the God and Saviour of the Bible, while promoting and praising wicked people such as Esau, the Sodomites, and the traitor, Judas Iscariot.

Da Vinci Code a Calculated Attack on Biblical Christianity

The following excerpts from articles clearly reveal the dangers of deception that are contained in Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code:

Attacks on the Person of Jesus Christ In his article

A Study of the Book The Da Vinci Code, Dr. Errol Wagner says, among others:“The past few decades has seen the rise of attacks on Christianity in general and on the person of Jesus Christ in particular. These attacks have come from without and within the church. Now we have the book The Da Vinci Code, where questions are raised concerning the deity of Christ and the trustworthiness of the Gospels.
