Resist Temptation

Temptation is a part of life. Until we no longer have a body of sin we will be tempted to commit sin. To commit sin is to consciously do something that you know goes against God’s will and His laws. It is when you are tempted by the lusts and desires that dwell in you and you consciously agree to act on that temptation. But in reality, every temptation is an opportunity to overcome and to get victory over sin! With the word of God as our weapon we can always resist temptation! Continue reading “Resist Temptation”

How to walk in the SpiritT

INTRODUCTION“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law… Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires… If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16-19, 24-25). The Fullness of the Spirit

What the principle of life is to the body, that the Holy Spirit is to the individual. We shall stand powerless and abashed in the presence of our difficulties and our foes until we learn what He can be, as a mighty tide of love and power in the hearts of His saints. Who is the Holy Spirit?

Many people misunderstand the identity of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is commonly thought of as an impersonal force. Some people think of it as a healing or protective power to which God gives a believer access. But what does the Bible say about the Holy Spirit? Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit is not just an impersonal power or a force, but a person – the third person of the Trinity, in fact. The Holy Spirit is God Himself. Greg Boyd says God knows some aspects of the future, but that other future events are outside of his knowledge.Creflo Dollar says because we are created in the image of God, we are little gods. Mormonism says God revealed new scripture to Joseph Smith that supersedes the Bible. Roman Catholicism says we are justified by faith, but not by faith alone. The Latter Rains

In the prophetic parable of the ten virgins, we notice an unusual encounter between the “wise virgins” and the “foolish virgins” in which the foolish virgins recognize, not only that they are running out of oil (the apparent presence of the Holy Spirit); but that the wise virgins obviously have an abundant manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

Struggle of the True Church

After the first and second centuries various false teachings arose among certain groups of Christians, giving rise to the formation of a false church that persecuted the true believers. In his book, “The Pilgrim Church,” E.H. Broadbent describes the persecution of the saints by false churches – mainly the Roman Catholic Churchbut since the 1520’s also the Protestant state churches that obtained civil power and followed suit.
